Coffee, Concrete Simple Math

Most mornings started the same way: black coffee, boots up on the bumper, and a quick look at the numbers. What’s coming in. What’s going out. What’s left for future me. No spreadsheets. No thirteen tabs open. Just the truth in and out.

That habit beat every complicated system I tried. When I finally tied it to a few simple moves—sweep a slice to taxes the minute money hits, keep a few payrolls ready, replace tools on schedule, pay myself like clockwork—the noise quieted down. Jobs got clearer. Decisions got easier. I wasn’t gambling. I was building.

That’s still how I help trades folks today. We keep the math simple, the rules visible, and the routine light enough to run on your worst day. If you can lay a wall straight, you can run this system. It’s the same muscle.

If you want fewer surprises and more steady days, start with coffee and simple math—and stick to it.
